Terms and Conditions of Sale

Last updated: 12 October 2026

1. Publisher

The MusiCompanion app (app.musicompanion.app) is published by the Société valaisanne de la Flûte, an association established under Articles 60 et seq. of the Swiss Civil Code, Valais, Switzerland. Contact: info@musicompanion.app.

2. Purpose

These terms govern the use of the app and the purchase of the MusiCompanion Essential and MusiCompanion Complete plans. Use begins with a 10-day free trial of MusiCompanion Complete (20 days for founding members), with no commitment and no bank card. The trial starts when the app is first opened, with the e-mail address and the code received by e-mail; it is granted only once per e-mail address. After that, use of the app requires one of the two paid plans, both ad-free: MusiCompanion Essential (metronome and tuner at 440 Hz in equal temperament) or MusiCompanion Complete (the whole app).

3. Price

Prices, VAT included: Essential €4.95 per year; Complete €4.95 per month, €49.95 per year, or one-time lifetime payment of €139. “Founding members” offer: 20-day free trial, then €4.95 per month, €39.95 per year or, until 31 March 2027, one-time lifetime payment of €79.95 for users who commit to sending their suggestions for improvement and testing new versions; from 1 April 2027, normal prices apply again. This offer does not in any way depend on a rating or review given for the app. These plans will be on sale soon. Depending on the customer’s country, the amount may be displayed in their local currency at checkout; the exact price is always shown before confirmation. We may change the price for future periods; the customer will be informed by e-mail at least 30 days before the renewal concerned and may cancel before that date.

4. Ordering and payment

The plan is purchased from within the app, with a customer account (e-mail and password). Payment is made on Stripe’s secure page (card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or other methods offered). Stripe may act as reseller of the service (“Managed Payments”): it then collects the payment, calculates the applicable taxes and issues the invoice. We never have access to your full card details.

5. Duration and renewal

Annual plans (Essential at €4.95 and Complete at €49.95): the subscription runs for one year from payment. It renews automatically for a further year at the same price unless cancelled before the renewal date. A reminder e-mail is sent before each annual renewal.

Monthly plan (Complete at €4.95 per month): the subscription runs for one month from payment and renews automatically every month at the same price unless cancelled before the renewal date.

Lifetime plan (Complete, one-time payment of €139): one-time payment, with no renewal or subscription. Access to MusiCompanion Complete is granted for as long as the publisher operates the app, on the holder’s account.

Updates: the app is improved regularly. Updates are included at no extra cost in the Essential and Complete plans, including the lifetime plan.

6. Cancellation

The customer may cancel an annual or monthly subscription at any time, free of charge and without giving reasons:

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid (year or month): access to the plan remains open until that date. Practice data stored on the device is not deleted. The lifetime plan, paid once, does not need to be cancelled.

7. Refund

The refund is made to the payment method used, usually within 5 to 10 working days.

8. Access, availability and devices

The app works in a recent browser (iPhone, iPad, Android, computer) and can be installed on the home screen. We strive to keep it available but cannot guarantee this at all times (maintenance, outage of a provider). The paid plan is linked to the customer account; it can be used on the devices of the account holder and the members of their household, for example a parent and their child, on at most 3 devices at the same time (2 for complimentary access). A device can be replaced by another at most once per 30-day period; signing out on a device frees its place. The account is personal and may not be shared with people outside the household, for example a teacher’s pupils.

9. Minors

The app is designed for both children and adults. For minors, the subscription must be taken out or approved by a parent or legal guardian.

10. Liability

The app is a tool to support musical practice. Our liability is limited, to the extent permitted by law, to the amount paid for the current subscription period or, for the lifetime plan, to the amount of that one-time payment.

11. Personal data

See the privacy policy.

12. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms and conditions are governed by Swiss law. The place of jurisdiction is the association’s registered office in Valais, subject to any mandatory rules of jurisdiction applicable to consumers.
